The first few days after giving birth are critical. The mother needs to rest and her body needs time to heal. The hospital will provide the woman with a mattress, bedding, pillows, and a pillowcase. The staff will change the woman’s sheets and pillowcases at least once a day.

After the first few days, the mother should be discharged as soon as possible. If the mother is discharged early, she may need to see the doctor only once or twice a week instead of every day. If the mother stays in the hospital, she will need regular checkups by her doctor.

The hospital will provide the woman with clothing for postnatal care. She will also need clothes for when she returns to work or school. The mother should bring enough clothing for two or three days.

The mother can breastfeed her child at home after she is discharged from the hospital. However, it is important for her to get support from a lactation consultant while breastfeeding. The woman should eat a balanced diet while she is recovering from childbirth. She should eat foods that are high in protein, calcium, and vitamin D.
